St. Edmundsbury Scale Modellers

St Edmundsbury Scale Modellers are located in the village of Horringer near Bury St Edmunds and would like to welcome all aspiring modellers.

Our members build mainly scale models (not radio controlled), of aircraft, armour and cars with the occasional figure or ship making an appearance. Usually the model will start from a donor plastic kit, some will be built ‘out-of-box’ and others, with extensive research and after market extras including decals, plastic, resin, etched brass, white metal, etc, will finish up as detailed scale models. Some will take the modelling further by scratch building and blending a number of kits to produce something that is not available in kit form or placing their finished model within dioramas for that life-like authenticity.

So, if you have knowledge or experience to give, or want to improve or start in modelling, then join our model club. If we don't build what you’re interested in, build it anyway and introduce diversity and this may attract other interested parties to the club.
